Our insurance partners have been active in Africa for over 25 years, covering over 30 countries on the continent. We have developed several coverage options that cater specifically to members in Africa. We recognize that medical treatment varies widely across Africa and can be challenging in certain circumstance.
To ensure that we offer a comprehensive range of benefits and coverage in Africa:
• Our plans include emergency Medevac as a standard feature, along with coverage for local road or air ambulance costs, to reassure members that they can receive the care they need, wherever they may be.
• Members are free to choose where they receive treatment (within their designated coverage zone), as our plans operate on client choice. However, we have already established network arrangements, either directly or through our agents in Africa, with over 5,000 medical facilities throughout the region.

How our claims process works for expats residing in Africa
As medical treatment abroad can be quite costly, expats may find cancer treatment to be the most expensive, while expenses related to diabetes, dentistry, and maternity care can also be staggering.
We offer two ways to process claims:
Direct billing: Whenever possible, we aim to settle hospital claims directly with the medical facility if a member is physically admitted as either an in-patient or day-patient. For most other claims, reimbursement will be made once the claim has been approved.
Same currency: As a standard practice, claims will be reimbursed in the same currency as the member's premium payment. However, if a member wishes to settle in a different currency, they can specifically request it.
We also provide 24/7 support to our members: Our award-winning claims team is available from 6am to 6pm UK time, Monday to Friday. For support outside these hours, our members can rely on Cega Assistance, our Assistance Service.
